SUMMARY

This survey was undertaken to inform a strategy for palliative and end of life care across the Bailiwick and the services available in the future.

It was undertaken on behalf of the Palliative & End of Life Care Partnership Group, which includes representatives from the States of Guernsey, health care providers, including GPs, and Les Bourgs hospice and care homes. The aim of the survey was to better understand the views and experiences of residents in Guernsey, helping the group to achieve their aim of ensuring that ‘every individual receives the right support at the right time and in the right place in a compassionate, coordinated and responsive manner’.
